We get the question all the time- "what does my registration include?"
When you sign up for the Kenda BikeFest presented by Dirt Rag your registration includes: camping for three days, hot showers, nightly entertainment including live music, movies - the Klunkerz screening, kids movie nights, unlimited participation in all the clinics and "led" rides, celebrity rides, the Kenda Night Scavenger Hunt Ride (great prizes and pre-registration required!), Dirt Rag Salon Activities (tech-talks, advocacy seminars, Bourbon Tasting (adults only!), access to the Expo, a unique opportunity to get up close, hands-on test rides on cool new bikes, and much more!
We'll have potable water and ice for sale on-site along with lots of food vendors.
Full schedule of activities coming soon!
WHAT: The Kenda BikeFest, presented by Dirt Rag. 14 years old and still going strong in the Berkshires!
WHEN: July 25-27, 2008 Rain or Shine
WHERE: Apple Tree Hill Organic Farm, Route 43, Hancock, MA 01237
OPENING HOURS: Registration opens at 8:00am and closes at 11pm.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON ARRIVAL TIMES:
We have gotten a number of inquiries about when people can arrive for the Festival - including asking if people can come in on Thursday night and camp at the venue the night before the Festival begins. This poses a serious logistical and operational hurdle for us. As a solution we have contacted the Privacy Campground in Hancock. MA (approximately 2 miles down the road from the Festival on Route 43). If you wish to arrive in Hancock on Thursday night they can accomodate campers from the Fest. The charge is $19.00 per camp site (for 2 adults - $2 extra per additional adult and $1 per child). If you do decide to camp there you must make your arrangements in advance. The campground's office closes at 9pm but they can make arrangements for you for later arrival only if you call in advance. Please call 413.458.3125 to make your reservations.

I CANNOT tell you how EXCITED I am to see Marla Streb on the list!!! She is pretty much one of my biggest idols. If I can't get a day off from Ridgerunning to get to Kendafest someone needs to come kidnap me off the AT next weekend or I might die. -Silvia Bennington, VT

Highlander is small, but good service and does a lot of custom work. Roads and Trails is your local bike shop offering what Bennington can afford, and great service. It's where the former Eiger, and other bikes shops and skate park were.

Last year my wife attended the skills clinic put on by Alison Dunlap, while I attended the skills clinic out on by Simon Lawton of Fluidride. After we got back to camp we were talking about what we learned, and it was funny because everything Alison Dunlap taught my wife were the things that Simon Laughton told his group were old school techniques that are now considered bad form, and can quickly result in loss of control and injury. I taught my wife what Simon taught us, and she thought it was all better than what Alison Dunlap taught her.
Don't get me wrong I'm not knocking Alison Dunlap; she is a very skilled racer.
I guess there's a bit of a learning curve between an XC racer's focus and a downhill racer's focus even though the Fluidride clinic was focused on basic skills for all disciplines including road!
