| I'm really looking forward to attending the festival again this year. However, I do have a few questions.
1) Will there be any new trails added this year?
2) Will there be a map available this year? Last year even the 4 guides on our ride got lost and couldn't find the singletrack. And what they did find was overgrown with thorns.
3) Will there be better toilet facilities this year? In past years it consisted of port-a-jons which are inadequate for overnighters. Toilet trailers with flushing toilets, lights, and sinks would be much better suited for an event where people are sleeping over. Just do a search for "toilet trailers" and you will find numerous options.
That's it for now. I'll post again if I can think of any more questions.

| Don't get me wrong. This event is awesome. The vendors, the trails, just about everything is great. I would just like to see more trails, maps, and much better bathrooms. |

| We are working on all those issues. Maps and trails are at the head of our list. The porta-potty issue was certainly problematic last year for the first time in the Festival's 14 year history. We are doing our best to be sure there is not a repeat this year - we, the organizers are there camping too, and we didn't enjoy it either! Thanks for the feedback! See you in July! |

| Joan,
It would be great to see more trails and hope they can be broken in a little more this year, that is my main concern. I understand that there is a poacher issue out there with the ATVers but there was not enough riding around the festival site. One idea is to get a second (if possible) shower trailer. Each year I have been there have been major lines and yes last year I got stuck with no water with soap/shampoo all over me, luckily for me the guy turned it on again so I could rinse, this came after waiting for 30 minutes just to take a shower.
A couple more ideas, is there a chance you could offer porta potty rentals, a few of the events I go to offer this for an extra fee and is really worth it. As for the trail maps, since everyone registers with an email address, what about emailing then a couple days prior to the event the actual map or maps. That way we can print them ourselves. It would help everyone learn the area (somewhat anyway) prior to arrival and plan rides. Also, are we allowed to come out Thursday evening? I arrived around 10am last year and previous years I attended and the main camp area was already full.
Thanks,
Jamie |

| HI WOODSGUY!!
I'm super psyched to hear that the organizers are concerned with the same issues I am - the fact that you have this forum to even discuss this stuff openly is awesome too!!
I can't wait! Thanks!!
(oh and my little request is that on the group rides, if someone rides cleanup, they don't pass the last rider and leave me (I mean the last rider) to fend for his/herself.) |

| This will be my 12th year attending the festival and last year, 2007, was the worst. I understand the trails were kinda thrown together because of the timing of getting the site and if it weren't for the Jiminy Peak trails I wouldn't have been very happy. I certainly hope the trails around the site are improved and that one across the street.... what was up with that one? It sucked going up and sucked coming down.... of course the mud and all didn't help.
I really like the event... I wouldn't go if I didn't like the riding, I hope more attention is paid to the trails this year.

| I see that the first trail building days have been announced. I will try and make it to at least one of those. I have a suggestion though. You should offer more than coffee and donuts for volunteers. Maybe raffle off some prizes and provide discount on admission to the festival for those that volunteer one day and free for 2 or more days. The trails are what make the festival after all. |

I actually think a lot of people think 2 yrs ago was the "worst pedro's ever!" Actually that was the running theme with a large group of people that year. Of course even the worst pedro's is better then most other things. Last year I think was a slight improvement, they didn't stop the rides on sunday and skip rides on saturdays so the vendors could make money, and there were few vendors if any actually selling items so that idea was a waste. I don't really care for the venue. It has lots of advantages but it's just a little bit too far from the trail system. In a couple of years hopefully there will be a better trail system near the camping out the back as opposed to those 2? loops and the unfinished path to Jiminy. Either way it's Pedro's or Bust again this year!! |
