| What is the mileage of the two trails adjacent to the festival site?
Are these maps available as a gpx file?
Thanks |

Hi, I'm the trail coordinator. I don't have a precise answer for you. We haven't measured the length of any of the trails with a measuring wheel or even a bicycle computer. The GPS doesn't log the lengths accurately when the trails go back and forth as much as ours do. If you mean the trails on the same side of the road as the festival site, we probably have two miles of trail packed in there. It takes half an hour or so to ride those three loops. On the other side of the road, there are six singletracks plus connecting woods roads and doubletrack. You'd have to go for three and a half or four hours or so to ride it all. It's fine singletrack. I'm afraid I don't have a GPX file here for you. Thanks, Ed Carman |

| Since this isn't the first request I've heard for gpx files, it seems that there's enough demand for them that we might want to consider making them available next year. As for this year, since all the maps are based on GPS tracks, it should be a whole lot easier for people to find their way around than it has in the past. |

| The rides don't really follow specific, pre-planned routes. The lengths (both distance and time) will largely depend on the group of riders and how they feel. Often, in my experience, the bigger group rides get split into a couple of smaller rides, allowing those riders looking for a longer ride to go on one, while those looking for a shorter ride to go on the other. |

| i'm gonna be more specific on expert group ride times but, not distances as i don't keep track. the riding on the event side is short but, fun. the ride across the street has a nice climb up wet doubletrack to some beautiful switchbacking all around singletrack back down. i didn't see much more than an hour of riding over there last year but, alot of trail work seemed to be in progress. the stuff was found on the expert group rides off and around jiminy peak accessed by 3-5 mile+-of road riding each way to access some of the bestriding in new england, way better than the kingdom trails, some more techy, lots of longclimbs and descents on killer singletrack. the two expert rides i did last year were 3-5 hours at a fast pace as i rode with the faster group, 90% singlespeeders. so each day i'd ride all of the stuff by the event and then hit the group ride and go back out at night for full day rides. any group rides leaving the venue to hit the not marked stuff by the mountain should average at least 3 hours at any pace. unless you've been there before you won't find the good stuff, go with a group.
have fun, i'll be there from the new hampshire seacoast weather depending, supposed to rain like a foot this week, yuk!
