| Hey all. I just signed up as a volunteer trail worker/ride leader. I told myself at last year's fest that I'd sign up this year and am looking forward to helping. I've got a couple of quick questions:
Will it be possible to camp at the site for the trail maintenance days? I'll be driving from eastern MA, so it's roughly 3 hours of driving. It'd be awfully nice if I could do that the day before the work. Alternatively, if you live near the site, do you mind if I set up a tent in your backyard?
Also, I'm interested in helping to work on maps of the trails near the site. If you were on the big intermediate ride that took the long way up Brodie Mountain last year, you probably want to see improved maps, too. Has anybody put any work into this already? If so, I'd love to help. If not, it'd be great to start planning this.

Yea, maybe a trail work festival! That would be cool. Work in the morning and evening and ride in the afternoon. I'd be in for that. I also think there should be more than coffee and donuts for volunteers. Maybe raffle off some cool prizes and provide a discount on admission. I was on that ride last year. Not good. |

| In years past there were people who camped at the site prior to trail building and I think Terry would be there with his motorhome for like a month beforehand. Not sure how it is since we are on a working farm. The site from 2-5 years ago we could go camp on anytime during the year. But it might be better if lots of people wanted, to have a work weekend, cause I know the 5 hour drive each way for a few hours of work is a killer. It would be cool to go for 2 days and have a BBQ, would get a lot more done, get to ride a bit and get to know the ride leaders better. So you don't have that first day of being like I remember you who are you again. |

| I was just looking at the trail days and agree it would be great if we could camp out/ sleep in cars type thing. I was able to make 1 day last year but due to distance and time it was tough. This year gas is up and 2 days in a row might be more productive...???? We do need to improve on the Trails imediately near the camp ground for those not up to the killer rides, also for the "Younger" riders. Can someone in the "Head Shed" give us whatsup to this idea....Looking forward to seeing the gang again,
Walt

| Hi all, I will check with the owner of the farm because I am just not sure because as you say, it is a working farm. Check on back after the weekend and I should be able to let you know. |

| Joan, have you been in touch with the land owners? If we won't be able to camp at the farm before the trail work days, can anybody suggest another nearby place where I might set up a tent for the night?

I have been in touch - was actually just typing a note to the folks on my trail work volunteer list. Here's what we've come up with - we are going to turn the two trail work days in May into trail work weekends as folks have suggested. The land owner is fine with on-site camping. Because of the late notice we are keeping the April 26th date a single work day vs the weekend. That said if you wanted to camp there either Friday or Saturday night even though no official work day is planned for Sunday I believe you would be quite welcome to do so. Feel free to shoot me an email (use the contact us form on the ABOUT page) if you have more questions or want to confirm more details. I'll be traveling until Monday so if you don't hear back from me before then that is why. Cheers! joan |

| Love the work-weekend idea, did lots of that at Mount Cardigan for the AMC years ago. Fuel up in the morning; work hard during the day and good food at night with a big fire. Fire? Can we have a camp fire at night? |

| For this coming weekend, what time should people get to the site for the Saturday trail building day. I would hate to show up and have everyone already scattered into the woods. |

Hi all. For this weekend we're looking at a 9am start - complete with coffee and snacks. To answer the question about fires - I have to say emphatically "no". In addition to the fact that our insurance is very specific about NO open fires, there was just a very large brush fire in the area due to very dry conditions just last weekend. (Who knew right? With all the snow I'd have thought risk of fire was low - but that appears not to be the case.) |
