| Hi,
I've been attending Pedro's for the last 6 or 7 years and had a question or two about this year's event. The 2007 festival was pretty light on dirt jumps, stunts, and the pump track was pretty lame. Will there be more effort towards improving these activities this year?
The 2007 festival was definitely a disappointment in this regard compared to the 06, and 05 years. The Jump Mound and bmx track at the last location was drawing plenty of usage and pretty big crowds for the jump jams.....why did they go away? These events drew ppl together to have a good time and enjoy the sport the way many of us like to.
The 05 and 06 events gave me hope that the fest was progressing to be much more accommodating to those of us who enjoy these activities...but they vanished last year. :(
Next, will the vendor area be more like the old days where folks/shops could have 'yard sale' tents? While this may be in competition with the large corporate vendors, it was a very nice way to pick up odds and ends for those of us on a budget. I'm not sure why this feature went away but, I've been extremely disappointed by the 'corporatification' of the festival.
This is the second reason why I may not attend this year.
Bring back the bargains! -The big corporations make enough money and shouldn't feel threatened by a few used equipment vendors for three days a year!! Please let the little guy back in to the vendor area as it was a major reason for attending in the past.
Thanks and I hope the festival regains it's momentum and becomes bigger and better than ever!!

Hi Dave, I wanted to address your comment about vendors. We invite everybody - vendors of all types and sizes- to the Festival. We have specifically NEVER increased the cost of participating in the Expo since its very inception in order to encourage ALL vendors big and small to participate and to keep it affordable for all. That said, we cannot force anybody to come. There is an ebb and flow to this stuff that is far beyond our control. Often times it is the smaller vendor that simply does not have the staffing resources to send staff to weekend events and at the same time keep their shops and businesses open during the busy summer months. Regarding the pump track/ BMX / dirt jumping remarks - we agree with you and are seeking improvements this year. We already have some really interesting pros committed to attending (more info on that coming soon!) and we are hopeful that you will see much more going on in this area in 2008. |

| Great! -And glad to hear what you had to say.
It's a pleasant surprise to hear that you've had a mind out for the smaller vendor. All we could think of was the booths were to expensive. Glad to year that you've been taking steps to prevent that from happening!!
hmmmm.....
so it sounds like Pedros (ooops i mean ) KENDA fest will live strong!!
ok, i'll go.
lol
thank you!!!

| Here's my suggestion for this year's fest in regards to the pump track and jump area. Please set up a little area for smaller kids. Last year, there ended being traffic "issues" as the pump track was the perfect place for the little guys to get their dirt on, but it then kept others from being able to actually try the track at speed lest we run someone over. And lets face it, hitting a kid just so you can get "good pump" is a jerk move. If you make an area for them, they can work on and show off their skills in safety, and the adults get their area too. Thanks, and looking forward to July. |

oh yeah, those little ones they loved that. you could build an entire new bigger track, specially with lopes showing up ! make one only for little kids, that would be a super cool move and good draw for the little ones. we want them to grow up and ride !! :D each year we have progression, there didn't used to be any track at all, so it is only getting better ! :D |
